Thank you for visiting Dutch Cut Decks.

My name is Toon Kuijpers (aka Mieronio, @dutchplayingcardcollector),

Here is a little backstory about me to introduce myself.

For starters, I live together with my beautyful girlfriend, have 4 children and a adopted dog.

I have more hobbies than i can keep up with like riding motorbike, snowboarding, play guitar, play drums, wakeboarding, jiu-jitsu, greek/roman wrestling, scuba diving, boxing, and fittness and collecting /cutting pokersize playing cards off course!

I started collecting poker size playing cards in April 2019, and soon found out this was a big rabbit hole to fall into!

My collection went all over the place and wanted every deck i could get. (Im sure you know that feeling too).

In the following years I build a name in the card community (instagram @dutchplayingcarscollector) and had the honors to meet a lot of great people all over the world. From collectors to designers to creators.

I love to help starting collectors find their way in the playing card mayhem and get alot of questions about decks.

I also do lots of giveaways and organized a few (worldwide) trading projects,

Now things have settled, i know what i really like and am more focused on completing the series and collecting specific themes and decks.

I am a real tuck case collector and i only open my decks when I'm planning to cut them.

In 2022 i noticed the art of cutting cards and wanted to give it a try. I got a lot of great help to get started, and soon I noticed it became a form of therapy that made me relaxed and focused on cutting.

I started to see the finished cut design in my mind and tried to make that picture reality in the deck. Sometimes it works out fine and sometimes my pre visual idea just isn’t possible to cut, so I have to be creative and make it work in another way.

I love the challenge of creating depth and try to cut as many cards from the deck as possible, but in some occasions a full cut deck isn’t working and border filler cards is a better option to let the cut design “pop out”.

From every deck i cut, i pull the queen of spades to save it for myself!

First of all to keep track and have a card from each deck i cut, and second because its my favorite card from a deck. (Representing my mom).

If you are interested in a deck cut, and it is not available in store or when you are interested in a personal deck to be cut, contact me to discuss wishes and details through the Contact page, or send me a e-mail.

Interested in collaboration for Kickstarter campaigns you can send me a e-mail.

I hope you got a bit of an idea about who i am!

Thank you for supporting my creative mind!
